Futurejack – Thin Disguise (Single)
The soulful FutureJack proving that World music isn’t yet dead. With the inspiring mix of both vocal and instrumental talents comes the dazed and eerie track; Thin Disguise.
Beautifully picked guitar and saxophone harmonies both take equal dominance alongside the voices to prove that indeed music should be more about the entire band; not just the front-(wo)man. It seems to fit the surroundings perfectly on this wet, bleak day as you feel a musical trip being induced and begin drifting off into the unconscious. Adventurous percussion stays shy in the background but is by no means lacking any style. Fluctuating between the jazz bass riff’s and dampened cymbals it seems almost haunting, yet delightful to listen to. Brilliantly produced it combines both the warm intimate sounds being craved as well as the grand symphonies needed to drive bands like this forward to the masses. You really could listen to a full album of this style of song and get lost in the sounds you’re hearing and I hope in the future we can get just that.
